Join Corrales writer Rudy J. Miera for a reading and discussion of his book The Fall and Rise of ‘Champagne’ Sanchez, a “rags to riches to rejection to redemption” story set in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Whether it’s “Champagne’s” attempts to make a living selling fireworks, vacuum cleaners or burritos, things can – and do – go terribly wrong.Told through the eyes of Adelita Chavez, Champagne’s cousin and street-smart newspaper reporter, this fast-paced modern narrative chronicles his struggles and her observations of life in the barrio around her.
